Anet Margot Ris

Anet has been a performer, choreographer, and teacher for over 40 years, with influences ranging from multiple forms of dance, experimental theater, somatics and the shamanic work of the Sweet Medicine Sundance path. She was a member of the Rudy Perez Performance Ensemble in Los Angeles and Daniel Nagrin’s dance improvisation group, The Workgroup, in New York City. More recently, she has performed her solos, and her improvisations with dancers and musicians, in Portland, OR, and Los Angeles, CA. Her video poems won second prize at the New York Expo for Short Film and Video, and have been screened both domestically and internationally. Anet is a past recipient of grants from the City of Los Angeles and the Long Beach Museum of Art, and she holds a BFA from New York University and an MFA from the University of Wisconsin.
